We have developed a number of market leading products which have enhanced the accuracy and response from postal voters by providing a clear, easy, efficient and cost-effective method of marking and returning a completed postal vote. Our unique products have been used in Local, Parliamentary, European and combined elections, as well as numerous By-elections and Referenda.

(Each of the videos shown below is available free of charge to all customers who would like to have a link on their website and help their postal voters even further)

We have many postal vote products available, all with customisable options. Our postal vote families include Voter-Peel, Auto-Pocket, Flexivote and Econovote.

Voter-Peel family of postal voting packs

Voter-peel: packs delivered filled, with flaps unsealed ready for insertion of ballot paper by the Council.

Voter-peel plus: as above but Print Image Network also inserts a loose ballot paper into the pack.

Voter-peel connect:  integral ballot paper attached to the Postal Voting Statement by means of a perforation, for guaranteed integrity and security.

The main part of the form is one piece of paper containing the Elector’s address area, the Postal Voting Statement (PVS) and two colour-coded self-adhesive labels which the elector affixes to envelopes “A” & “B”. The document can also be extended to leave a clear area for a ballot paper. Typically, label “A” will show the ballot paper number plus a postcode to identify the authority. Label “B” will show the precise return address, licence number and Ward, where Ward sortation applies.

Unique features:-

  • All personalisation details are on one piece of paper meaning an inherent guarantee of no mismatches.
  • Colour coded sticky labels for the elector to affix to envelopes “A” & “B”

Key points:-

  • The main form including the integral labels is manufactured in advance, with colour if required. We use different colour schemes for non-combined, same-day elections.
  • Once data is available we laser this one piece of paper with all elector information, hence guaranteeing no mismatches.
  • The labels can have any information lasered on to them, meaning this detail is transferred to envelopes “A” & “B” once affixed by the elector.
  • Labels and envelopes are colour-coded to help with intuitive completion.
  • Packs can be delivered filled and unsealed ready for insertion of ballot paper by the Council. This product is called Voter-peel.
  • Alternatively, we can match a ballot paper with the pack. This product is called Voter-peel plus. We can cater for any number of candidates.
  • As an added bonus the ballot paper can be attached to the PVS by means of a perforation for guaranteed security. This is called Voter-peel connect. (Maximum number of candidates here is 11 based on standard 25mm candidate spacing).
  • Voter-peel has won two national awards

Auto-Pocket postal voting pack family

Auto-pocket: packs delivered filled with flaps unsealed – for insertion of ballot paper by the Council.

Auto-pocket plus: as above but Print Image Network also inserts a loose ballot paper into the pack.

Auto-pocket was developed at the request of local authorities who preferred to use a product where the ballot paper envelope “A” was attached to the Postal Voting Statement (often referred to as a one-piece-mailer). The base form has the outgoing address in the top panel, next to the instructions, which is detached before returning. The Postal Voting Statement sits immediately underneath and below this is the integral envelope “A”, attached to the PVS by means of a perforation.

On completion, the ballot paper is securely sealed within the integral envelope “A” by self-adhesive tape before its insertion into envelope “B”.

Unique features:-

  • PVS is attached to envelope “A” by means of a perforation (sometimes referred to as a “one piece mailer”).
  • Outgoing elector address is on a separate section above the Postal Voting Statement.
  • Uses a generic window envelope “B”.
  • All personalisation details are lasered meaning any information or configuration can be accommodated.

Key points:-

  • The PVS is attached to envelope “A” eliminating the potential problem of partners inadvertently swopping paperwork. Helps speed up verification.
  • Councils can place their own ballot papers in the pre-filled packs. “Auto-pocket”
  • Alternatively, Print Image Network can match ballot papers into the packs. “Auto-pocket plus”
  • Separate instruction leaflets can be included
  • The sealing of envelope “A” is by secure self-adhesive tape rather then gum.
  • Envelope “A” has a glue free edge to allow automatic envelope openers to be used
  • As the return address is lasered, this can contain variable Ward information to aid sorting, prior to opening.

Flexi-Vote postal voting pack family

Flexi-vote 14

Flexi-vote 14 does not use labels or attached envelope “A’s” and can be configured in a number of different ways to help you and to help your electorate. The design uses plain white paper, lasered to your specifications together with window “A” and “B” envelopes. All details are lasered onto plain white paper meaning any information or configuration can be accommodated. Once the ballot paper is completed by the elector it is inserted into envelope “A” so the number is instantly visible through the window and the lasered ward address on the reverse of the Postal Voting Statement is shown through a generic “B” window envelope. The pack is easy to use and eliminates the need for numerous versions of envelope. In certain cases two ballot slips can be attached by means of perforations to provide unrivalled integrity.

Commencing with plain paper means we can print, laser data and perforate in any configuration.

Our standard product has the ballot paper attached to the PVS section by means of a perforation, but if desired it can be trimmed and inserted as a separate piece in the pack.

Unique features:-

  • Ballot paper attached to Postal Voting Statement (PVS) by means of a perforation.
  • Outgoing elector address is NOT on the Postal Voting Statement.
  • Uses generic window envelopes “A” & “B”.

Key points:-

  • Numerous printing, lasering and perforating options.
  • Many configurations to end up with a pack exactly suited to your needs and the needs of your electors.
  • The top 6” can show the instructions and the outgoing address with a horizontal perforation for detachment.
  • The next 6” can be the PVS with a perforation across the foot; followed by the ballot paper immediately below.
  • No need for separate matching of components.
  • Ballot paper can be attached to PVS by means of a perforation or left loose in the pack.
  • Separate instruction sheets can be included.
  • Elector places ballot paper into a Window envelope “A” and then places the “A” envelope plus PVS into a window envelope ”B”.
  • This configuration allows for a 14 candidate ballot paper (25mm standard spacing).

Flexi-vote 20

Flexi-vote 20 is similar to Flexi-vote 14 but caters for up to 20 candidates. The top 6” is the PVS with the outgoing address and the return address on the reverse. A horizontal perforation below the PVS allows the elector to detach their ballot paper. The pack also contains generic window “A” & “B” envelopes plus a separate instruction sheet. All details are lasered onto plain white paper meaning any information or configuration can be accommodated

Once the ballot paper is detached and completed, it is inserted with the number and ward details showing through the window in envelope “A”. The PVS is completed and the return address on reverse is designed to show through the window on envelope “B”.

Unique features:-

  • Ballot paper attached to Postal Voting Statement (PVS) by means of a perforation.
  • Outgoing elector and return addresses are on the reverse of the PVS section.
  • Uses generic window envelopes “A” & “B”.

Key points:-

  • Numerous printing, lasering and perforating options.
  • Many configurations to end up with a pack exactly suited to your needs and the needs of your electors.
  • The top 6” can be the PVS with a perforation across the foot to allow detachment of the integral ballot paper immediately below.
  • No need for separate matching of components.
  • Ballot paper can be attached to PVS by means of a perforation or left loose in the pack
  • Separate instruction sheets can be included
  • Elector places ballot paper into a Window envelope “A” and places the “A” envelope plus PVS into window envelope”B”.
  • This configuration allows for a 20 candidate ballot paper (25mm standard spacing).

Econovote postal vote pack (best for By-election and early issue of overseas packs)

Econo-vote is a traditional type postal voting pack with the ballot paper loose in the outer envelope.  The pack also contains separate “A” & “B” envelopes matched to a personalised Postal Voting Statement.  This product works well by By-elections as the lower volumes are easily manageable and more cost-effective than producing a pack with a more complex specification. For larger volumes, we use intelligent optical/mechanical matching where characters or barcodes are read by the inserting machine to ensure the integrity of the pack. There is a choice of having numbered envelope “A”s or a window, with the options for envelope “B”.

Unique features:-

  • Best suited for early production of overseas and By-election postal vote packs or generally low volumes
  • Ballot paper is loose in pack and NOT attached to Postal Voting Statement (PVS) by means of a perforation
  • “Traditional” type pack
  • All details are lasered onto plain white paper meaning different configurations can be accommodated

Key points: –

  • The base piece is A4 in size
  • The top 6″ shows the outgoing address and also instructions with a horizontal perforation for detachment
  • The next 6″ can be the PVS
  • The ballot paper is loose in the pack and matched by hand on low volumes
  • As the ballot paper is inserted afterwards it can be any length
  • Separate instruction sheets can be included

Postal Vote Awards

Our postal voting products have won awards for ‘Innovation & Creativity in a Direct Mail Piece’, ‘Best SME Supplier Innovation’ and ‘Excellence in Public Procurement’, all of which demonstrate how the application of lateral thinking can improve the process of issuing and responding to a postal vote.

Poll cards

We have a large capacity for poll cards but understand that each single one is personal to that elector. We can offer services for printing:-

  • Ordinary poll cards (and proxy if required)
  • Postal poll cards (and postal poll letters)
  • Poll cards with maps –  we have great experience in producing poll cards with maps and can re-draw to your satisfaction if your current maps are regarded as unclear.

All poll cards whether they have maps or not can either be delivered to you for canvasser delivery or designed to suit the lowest possible postage rates. Ask us for details because this element is the largest cost of mailing and we can achieve considerable savings for you.

Ballot slips

Each year we produce thousands of different ballot papers for customers up and down the country, from the far North to the South Coast.

Our key feature is to package the books per polling station i.e. you receive packages with a large label on the front describing which Ordinary and which Tendered books are within. In this manner they can be easily checked and handed to the Presiding Officers in the minimum amount of time.

  • A comprehensive range of coloured paper choices in case of combined elections
  • Books can be supplied as wire stitched at left or head, or supplied with a glued edge

Print Image Network have first-hand knowledge of every conceivable type of election or referendum to ensure your ballot slips are compliant with legislation. To support ballot slips we also offer large print or laminated versions.
n.b. All ballot books are delivered by secure door to door delivery drivers, you may need assistance i.e. more than one person to  unload straight into your offices.

Corresponding Number Lists, Registers

We have great experience in producing this documentation both for ordinary voters and postal voters. Once we have the data (and/or Word Documents) these lists and registers are produced with no further input required from the Council and can be supplied on white or coloured paper.

Grass skirts, count sheets and summary sheets

Our standard Grass skirts come in 2 main sizes. Our small grass skirt caters for 11 candidates (one strip of self-adhesive tape to affix ballot papers) and our large grass skirt caters for 24 candidates (two strips of tape).
